Our current political system is no longer representative of individuals. We have become so torn and divided that we no longer vote for candidates we actually want – instead we vote for the lesser of two evils.
In order to fix this problem endemic to the system, we need to enact policies to get rid of the corruption, the dynasties, and the political elite.
Economy and Jobs
The Economy is one of the most important parts of a country. Prosperous times lead to happy citizens. Therefore, creating a liberal and open economy is a key success metric of any government. Fostering this requires Tax Reform, Entitlement Reform, and a focus towards jobs.
The ability for self-determination is fundamental to my entire belief system. People should be allowed to choose their own paths in life. Restrictions on personal liberties help no one, are amoral, and ultimately lead to conflict. What we put in our bodies, how we live our lives, and what we believe should be determined by the individual as long as he/she does not infringe on the rights of others.
I firmly believe that the non-aggression principle should be a starting point for any and all lawmaking.
America has taken an active role in world politics for too long. As a country we’ve been at war for roughly 93% of our existence. It’s time for us to refocus on ourselves and fix the problems we face at home. This means scaling down our military operations, reducing foreign aid, and Immigration reform.
Education is one of the highest priorities of our country. Just like the free market, businesses perform better when there is competition. Schools and universities have had monopolistic power for the past few decades, driving up costs and lowering value as a result. Reducing government’s role in education will lead to more competition and increase the quality of education we receive overall.
